A fact quiet a lot of insured persons do not know: If you are holder of a basic insurance policy and a regular deductible (“franchise”: 300 CHF adults, 0 CHF children) you can cancel your insurance on 30 June. In other words: your insurance provider must receive your notice of cancellation by 31 March (date of postmark is not valid!). Therefore: send your note of cancellation early enough to Anivo. So we can support you perfectly.
The second possible termination deadline is on 31 December. Health insurances must provide their insurance premiums by 31 October. So: benefit from the possibility of comparing premiums and services – and save money. Once again, we recommand to send your note of cancellation early enough (your letter must reach the insurer by 30 November).
Yes, of course. Basic health insurance is mandatory for everybody in Switzerland. That’s why the insurer has to accept every applicant: immediate and without a medical check.
But notice: the situation is different with supplemental insurance. You do not have a right to get a supplemental insurance (e.g. due to your medical history).
In fact, the insurance benefits are all the same. But: there are differences with premiums and service offers, e.g. goodwill by dealing with invoices or payment terms. Major differences result by choosing different types of insurance modals, like HMO, basic, etc. or the deductible (“franchise”).
It is essential that you cancel your insurance in good time (by registered letter). This means: your cancellation letter must reach the current health insurance provider by 31 March or 30 November (during business hours). You do not have to mention why you cancel your insurance.
Your basic health insurance covers costs regarding basic health care (accidents and illness). Further services can be separately insured. We distinguish between supplemental outpatient insurance and supplemental hospital insurance. To find out which one’s the right for you, you must compare quiet well or – even better – arrange a counselling interview. What are your needs? Do you regularly need new glasses? Do you often visit your dentist? Do you want to visit fitness trainings? Do you like travelling? – These are benefits that can be insured. There are many options – we’d like to advise you individually.
